Catholic Priest Preaches Against Biden/Harris Ticket

I was sent a link to a Catholic Priest, Father Ed Meeks, the founding pastor of Christ the King Church in Towson, Maryland.  Much of his sermon draws Catholics to look at the teachings of the Catholic church, at least what they were before the current Pope, and he draws a stinging comparison between those teachings and the actions of Joe Biden who claims to be a Catholic.

I have many Catholics that follow my blogs, Instagram and Twitter accounts.  And I would urge you to listen to the scathing rebuke this Catholic Priest gave to the actions and policies of Joe Biden and the Democratic party.

Here are some excerpts from his speech reported by LifeSiteNews.com:

“Fr. Meeks admitted that it is not his place to tell his parishioners how they should vote, but he said, “It is my place as your priest and pastor to help you see how your vote may or may not line up with the teachings of the church.”

For this reason, he exhorted the faithful to vote in accord with the teachings of the Catholic Church, which are based on Sacred Scripture and the living tradition contained in the Church’s Magisterium.

Citing Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s apostolic exhortation Sacramentum Caritatis, Fr. Meeks told his parishioners that the three non-negotiables for Catholics are the sanctify of life from conception to natural death, the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong sacramental union between a man and a woman, and the preservation of religious liberty.

“On these [non-negotiables] and other critical issues, there is one presidential candidate who stands in very public [and] very obstinate opposition to Church teaching — namely, former vice president Joe Biden,” Fr. Meeks announced.”

You can listen to his complete sermon here.

Father Ed Meeks points out, Catholics believe their Christian faith is founded on the Scriptures and the teachings of the Catholic church.  On the other hand, my readers know I am a Protestant, specifically an Independent Fundamental Baptist.  So that means I believe in Sola scriptura, which means I believe the Bible alone should form the basis for our morals and church practice.  This means Father Ed Meeks and I would have many theological differences.

But if I were a soldier on a battle field would it matter to me if the man on my left was a Catholic, and the man on my right was a Pentecostal or even if the man to his right was a Jew? The answer is No. All that would matter on that moment is that we were fighting against a common enemy.

That is why since the beginning of this ministry I have welcomed Catholics, Pentecostals and even occasionally Jewish people to my site in our common battle against feminism and humanism in Western culture.  I have even had conversations with atheists who believe that we need to return to patriarchy as a society.   And as long as those people are respectful of my Biblicist Christian beliefs, I believe we can fight in the trenches together against our common societal foes.

This Priest is right that for more than half a century, leftists have been slowly pushing us toward “the abyss” as he stated, toward the point of societal collapse.  I would argue it started even further back in the mid-19th century with the beginning of feminism in America.  But my point is we who believe in the sanctity of life and the religious freedom must stand together against those who are opposed to the candidates that are opposed to the fundamental values – namely Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

God has given us as Christians a choice between two men with flawed characters who will set the policies of our nation for the next four years.  The difference between the two is that one has been the strongest defender of pro-life policies and religious liberty that this nation has seen in a half a century. The other has a record of standing against the pro-life position and against religious liberty.

If you are a Catholic or Protestant the choice is clear in this election.  The policies of Donald Trump and Mike Pence align closer to our shared Christian beliefs and values than those of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
