Rush Limbaugh Says We May be Headed for Secession

Yesterday, on his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh said “I actually think that we’re trending toward secession”.  Below is his larger statement on this possibility of secession:

“I actually think that we’re trending toward secession. I see more and more people asking what in the world do we have in common with the people who live in, say, New York? What is there that makes us believe that there is enough of us there to even have a chance at winning New York, especially if you’re talking about votes.

I see a lot of bloggers — I can’t think of names right now — a lot of bloggers have written extensively about how distant and separated and how much more separated our culture is becoming politically and that it can’t go on this way. There cannot be a peaceful coexistence of two completely different theories of life, theories of government, theories of how we manage our affairs. We can’t be in this dire a conflict without something giving somewhere along the way.

I know that there’s a sizable and growing sentiment for people who believe that that is where we’re headed whether we want to or not. Whether we want to go there or not. I myself haven’t made up my mind.”

You can read more on this at RushLimbaugh.com.

Many on both sides of the aisle have acknowledged that we are now engaged in the second American civil war [https://biblicistreport.com/the-second-american-civil-war/].  It has been brewing for years and up to this point it has been a cold cultural war, a war of words fought in courts and elections across America.  And for a long time, few on the left or right would admit this, trying to pass off the differences as the same that Americans have always had.

But the truth is some differences between people are so great, that they that they require the two groups of people to part company.  And sometimes these divisions are so great that they lead to secession and secession most of the time leads to civil war.

Rush Limbaugh is right on this, and he does not want to be right in this case.  Who wants to see the America as we know it break it up? No one.  But it may become necessary sooner that most would realize.

He is right that “There cannot be a peaceful coexistence of two completely different theories of life, theories of government, theories of how we manage our affairs”.

What could cause secession?

If Leftists ever got their dream of gun confiscation whether through undermining the right to bear arms through a packed Supreme Court or even by changing the Constitution, that would lead to session by many states.  This right to keep and bear arms, the right defend one’s self and one’s family was seen by our founders as God given inalienable right.

If Leftists were able to force by power of law or court decision, churches to accept LGTBQ as members or as clergy that would lead to secession.  Remember that America was founded by English settlers looking for religious freedom, religious freedom is in the very DNA of what it means to be American.

If Leftists raises taxes too high, for instance to rates like Sweden to 76 percent, that would lead to secession.  Remember that one the things that lead to the American Revolution was high taxes.

If Leftists remove all controls, all quotas on immigration and allow America to be flooded with immigrants, especially poor immigrants who depend on social programs, that could lead to secession.  The citizens of America have always controlled their borders and who can come into America.  This is a foundational principle for any nation, not just America.  Once Americans can no longer control who comes into their country, we are no longer a country.

If Leftists are able to continue eroding freedom of speech by collusion with Leftist oligarchs who control social media and other forms of communication, that would lead to secession.   George Washington said “If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

And what if Leftists figured out a way to win elections by stuffing ballots in major metropolitan areas to get whatever they needed to win an election?

What Might Secession Look Like?

If you look at the map at the top of my article, one similar to what Rush had on his site, you will see that there is a great geographic area across the country that is Red. The red areas are mostly aligned with those who believe in conservative and traditional American values. The ones in blue are most aligned with people who reject traditional American values.

So what would a session look like? I think it would not only involve entire states seceding, but like in the first American Civil War, parts of states would break off like West Virginia did from Virginia. I could very much see western New York breaking off from eastern New York. I could see states like Georgia and Mississippi breaking in half. Texas could divide as well.

Another possibility is that there might have to be an agreed upon “people swap” of sorts. Those who oppose traditional American values could move to predominately blue states and those who agree with traditional American values could move to predominately red states.

Conclusion

How can people coexist when one side wants to take away the right to bear arms from the other? How can people coexist when one side wants to take away the religious freedom of the other? How can people coexist when one side wants to take away the private property of the other through high taxation?  How can people coexist when one side wants to silence the speech of the other?  How can people coexist when one side breaks the law regarding how governing officials are elected?  How can people coexist when one side believes in protecting its borders and culture and the other believes in multiculturalism and that borders are “immoral”?

The Bible asks a similar question in Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” and the answer to that question is no, they cannot.

  1. I would submit that a weaker, less invasive central government that lets regions govern themselves would be a peaceful resolution. Make us a federated group of states again. Allow for less regulated trade and travel among ourselves than with other countries, but each deciding their own administration.
